Sound ↔ Letter Trainer
Adaptive phonics game for ages 4–6. Hear a letter sound, tap the matching letter. Letters your child misses appear more often — designed to support dyslexia and early reading.
Frequently Asked Questions
What age is Sound ↔ Letter Trainer designed for?
Ages 4–6, especially children learning to read or showing early signs of dyslexia. The game focuses on phonological awareness — the ability to hear a sound and match it to the letter that makes it.
How does the adaptive difficulty work?
The game tracks each letter separately. Letters your child gets wrong show up more often, and letters that haven't been seen recently get a small boost so the whole alphabet stays in rotation. Turn on Focus mode to drill only the 3 weakest letters.
Why do the sounds use phonetic approximations like "buh" instead of "bee"?
Phonics teaches the sound a letter makes (the phoneme), not its name. Hearing "buh" for the letter b is what helps children sound out words like bat, bed, and big. Letter names come later.
Is my child's progress stored online?
No. All progress — points, streak, and per-letter stats — is saved in your browser's localStorage and never leaves the device. Use the Reset button to start over.
