Kinematics Dashboard
Visualise position, velocity, and acceleration on three stacked graphs — adjust initial velocity, acceleration, and time to see the kinematic equations in action.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is kinematics?
Kinematics is the branch of physics that describes how objects move using position, velocity, and acceleration — without considering the forces that cause the motion.
What are the kinematic equations?
For constant acceleration there are three key equations: s = v₀t + ½at² (position), v = v₀ + at (velocity), and v² = v₀² + 2as (velocity-distance). Together they can solve any constant-acceleration problem.
How do the three graphs relate to each other?
Velocity is the slope (derivative) of the position graph, and acceleration is the slope of the velocity graph. If acceleration is constant, velocity is a straight line and position is a parabola.
