Frequently Asked Questions
What is a decision matrix?
A decision matrix (also called a Pugh matrix or weighted scoring model) is a tool for evaluating options against multiple criteria. Each criterion gets a weight (1–10) reflecting its importance, and each option gets a score (1–10) for how well it meets that criterion. The weighted totals reveal the best choice.
How does the sensitivity analysis work?
The sensitivity analysis shows how robust your decision is by calculating what weight changes would flip the top two options. If a small change would flip the result, the decision is close and deserves more thought. If no reasonable change can flip it, you can proceed with confidence.
What presets are available?
Three presets: Job Offer Comparison (salary, work-life balance, growth, culture, location, benefits), Software Tool Selection (features, price, ease of use, integration, support), and Blank (start from scratch with two criteria and two options).
Can I export my decision matrix?
Yes, click Export CSV to download a spreadsheet with all options, criteria, weights, scores, weighted totals, and percentages. This is useful for sharing with colleagues or keeping a record of your decision process.
